The murder suspects locked inside—along with the entire logistics & sanitation crew—are already shifting from their initial struggles and screams of terror to the drug taking effect: lustful, sticky moans echoing through the space.
And you, Levi—can you, with death closing in, reason out who the real killer is and save this group of innocent people?
“Only one hour left, Levi. If you can’t find the murderer who killed the Jewel Gang boss, Laymon will have everyone in this room—the blood-wipe crew—executed as the culprits to appease the crowd’s anger.”
The deadline is clearly still more than ten full hours away, but this vile bastard is blatantly lying.
“Laymon counts down like this: the numbers within ten are only ten, nine, and one.” You recall the nauseating line this man used right before executing “traitors” with a shot.
But there’s no time to argue with him. When you know victory is already in your grasp, you don’t care about a referee’s useless black whistle.
“Your single-digit addition and subtraction is as impressive as ever—and on par with your shooting accuracy.”
“Mocking Laymon’s math won’t save anyone. Mocking Laymon’s aim will get your head rolling.”
The vicious hound can’t suppress the ugly, smug grin spreading across his face. He taps the one-way glass with the butt of his gun, pointing toward the street thug behind it—who has already lost his mind and is desperately rubbing himself against the metal leg of the meat grinder, begging to be let out.
“Let’s go over the case details again from the beginning.
The Maine Coon boss of the Jewel Gang was beaten to death, punch after punch, in his penthouse office after a catnip party celebrating a heist. Time of death: 1:00 a.m. All the jewelry in the safe was taken.”
“The only ones left in the building were the victim himself, his deputy, and the sanitation & logistics duo—older brother Vincent and his useless underlings—who were serving drinks and cleaning up.
Theoretically, Vincent didn’t have the physical ability to do it. He’s severely allergic to catnip; if he had really been at the scene, we’d probably have two corpses—one beaten to death, one dead from anaphylactic shock.
Could he have instigated or ordered his subordinates to do it? Even if that’s true, the ones who would ultimately be executed are the hands-on grunts, not him.”

“And finally—oh yes—these pieces of trash in the room right now, humping the pillars.
Vincent’s useless subordinates could have entered the party area if the boss or deputy ordered them to clean, restock alcohol, or bring food.
They all insist that neither the boss nor the deputy called them in that night.
But what if the glittering gold made them agree on a unified lie? Never mind how a large group could enter a crime scene without leaving traces—they’re professionals at cleaning up crime scenes. Covering up for each other probably isn’t that hard for them.”

And when both the deputy and low-level thugs are suspects, no matter the actual truth, we cannot accuse someone of too high a rank unless it threatens the overall interests of the syndicates.”
Laymon morbidly taps his own head with the gun butt—thud thud thud—filled with satisfaction.
“I suggest you just give up. Why wade into this mess?
The business deal you promised—making all the gangs richer—has one condition: we stop making money the gangster way? What a joke.
Just watch these people you can’t save, Levi. It’s all your fault. They should drag you down with them and your bullshit ideals.”
You aren’t intimidated by his threats. Instead, you calmly straighten your shirt collar.
“My money magic needs a proper stage setup. You’ve never been a patient audience, Laymon.

“The real culprits are the twins.

A voice shouts from behind the one-way glass.
“It’s impossible for the older twin Vincent!

Laymon slowly approaches, pressing his narrowed eyes against the glass. Dull thuds ring out—whether he’s hitting his own skull or the window or you is unclear.
“Or are you planning to accuse those people of lying to break the alibi?
The clerks, waiters, ticket sellers—anyone else can be dragged in and ‘interrogated thoroughly.’ Take your time. Use all sorts of… interesting methods.
But if you want to question Helomus’s testimony?
I may hate her father for competing with us, but I still have to remind you of her status.
She is the daughter of the Leather Case Gang boss. Her statement carries the highest-level credibility under syndicate law.
And lately… she’s been in a very, very bad mood.
Question her word and she might drag you straight into syndicate court.
Given your position, you’d probably lose before the trial even begins, ‘little boss’ of the police gang.”

From Vincent’s ten years of asthma treatment records, to the emergency visits caused by your crew’s pranks, to Helomus’s testimony and the curfew check logs—everything points to the twin brothers having no opportunity to commit the crime.”
“But the person who went on the date with Helomus that night… was it really the younger twin Victor himself?!”
“What?! Then who else could it have been?!”
