Cross Realms plants you in the middle of an interdimensional accident—one moment you're starting college, the next you're gasping awake in a world governed by Qi cultivation and factional politics. DuskDuck's early-access fantasy visual novel hooks its premise on the aftermath of this collision: nine distinct Realms, each controlled by different races (Humans, Demons, Deities, Spiritual Beasts, and others), all barely maintaining a fragile peace built on control of Qi springs that flow from the Void itself.

The story's backbone is genuinely intriguing: you arrive as apparently nobody—a foreign outsider in a world where strength is currency—yet someone has orchestrated your arrival deliberately. That central mystery propels you through character encounters and political maneuvering as you build relationships across Realms, which ties into the game's harem focus. Rather than treating intimate relationships as disconnected side content, DuskDuck integrates them into the broader narrative of survival and uncovering who's been pulling strings behind the scenes. The adult content occupies a measured place within this larger arc; explicit scenes exist but don't overshadow world-building or character arcs.

Cross Realms runs on Ren'Py and currently sits at version 0.4.1, meaning substantial content remains in production—Chapter IV's public release isn't scheduled until February 2026. The developer has implemented a chapter-select menu so you can skip earlier content on replays, though an overhaul to the gallery system means old saves won't carry forward. The 3D visual work across 14 screenshots shows competent rendering, though you're still waiting for the full experience. Windows, Linux, and Android support is already baked in, and both English and Chinese language options are available.
