But the wilderness isn't as safe as he hoped. The store hides strange secrets: a mysterious humming room behind a metal door, suspicious customers, shadowy figures watching from the trees, and a silent old woman who appears every evening without explanation.
Together with the anti-government security guard, a bizarre pink-and-white cat claiming to be "from Europe" and unlucky detective, Miles becomes entangled in a growing mystery where paranoia and reality begin to blur together.
