Takujin's Sleeping Politicians is a satirical spy visual novel that drops you into a bewildering geopolitical scenario: it's 2065, Brazil dominates the Americas as a moral superpower, and you're a secret agent of questionable competence sent to investigate something vaguely suspicious in Split, Croatia. The worldbuilding is deliberately absurd—a far-future Europe reduced to "a disfigured corpse," a "Central Dalmatian Republic" in the Balkans—and the tone embraces the absurdity rather than playing it straight. Your old mentor Sampaio reappears without explanation, and you're told great events are coming. It's the setup for either a geopolitical thriller or a parody of one, possibly both.

The demo currently offers a taste of the main plot and one romance route, presented across a dozen illustrated scenes and some manga-style panels. Takujin's art is self-described as "mediocre animoo" but the backgrounds and character illustrations carry genuine charm, supported by notably strong music that sets the tone throughout. The adult content is framed as intentionally awkward—a refreshing acknowledgment that explicit scenes in visual novels often are—rather than polished fantasy. The demo promises sweat and tears but holds back on graphic content for now.

The full game plans six romance routes (both female and male characters), semi-open plot progression with branching choices, and minigames or shop mechanics. This is an early demo, so the core experience is dialogue, atmosphere, and character introduction rather than the systems mentioned above. If you enjoy political intrigue undercut with humor, or visual novels that don't take themselves entirely seriously, the Balkan spy premise alone justifies a download. The Croatian language option and Balkan setting also offer genuine geographic specificity rarely seen in the genre.
